Privacy notice

Spoonful is a cooking, nutrition and household product. This notice explains which data the website and the companion app store, why, and for how long. It is written for people, not for robots.

Who is responsible

What we collect on this website

• Nothing. This website is a set of static pages: there is no waitlist, no contact form and no analytics. Nothing you do here is sent to us.
• Language and cookie choice: stored only in your own browser (local storage). Clearing your site data removes them.
• Downloading the Android APK: the file is served straight from this site. Like every web server, our host writes a short access log (IP address, time, file). We do not build profiles from it.

What the app stores

On the device: language, theme, cooking mode, units, shopping list, photo crops, cook session, crash log and tutorial progress. Those stay on the phone unless you have an account.

On the server, with an account: recipes you write, saved recipes, tracker entries, household membership, community posts and comments. Images go to a recipe-images bucket. AI requests go to our own function — the model key never ships inside the app.

Why

Website: only so the page remembers your language and your cookie choice. App data: to provide the service you asked for. Legal bases are consent (optional local settings) and contract (the app once you have an account). If you email us, we use your address only to answer you.

How long

Website settings stay in your browser until you clear them. Emails you send us up to 24 months. App account data until you delete the account. Crash logs never leave the device.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, export (JSON from Settings in the app, or email us), restriction and objection. You can also complain to your local data protection authority. For the EU that is your national DPA.

Children and AI

The product is not directed at children under 16. AI recipes and nutrition estimates are suggestions, not medical or dietetic advice. If you have allergies, check every ingredient yourself.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. This website keeps no visitor data on a server, so there is nothing to share from it. Our mail provider processes messages you send to hello@spoonful.app. AI providers see the prompt you typed in the app, not your password.
